The Move to Surry County, Dec. 6, 1923
Written by B. C. Money
In 1923 we had a hail storm and damaged our tobacco right bad and on December 6 of the same year we moved to Surry County on Mr. J. W. Sowers' farm and for five years we lived on that place and made good crops. We did enjoy our stay in Surry County but on December 20, 1937, we moved back to the old home place and the months that followed was very mild and no record was kept of the doings or happenings until on April the first we decided to keep a daily diary. We record a few of special events up to that date.
