Dogwood Blossoms

The dogwoods are in bloom again and as we think of the legend of the dogwood its beautiful flowers become more sacred to us.  It has been our lot to have lived in a home surrounded by woods that was bedecked with many dogwoods and we have always loved the season when they were in bloom and it brings back memories of years gone by when on a Sunday morning with our Bible and song book in hand we would make our way to church and Sunday School traveling along the wooded pathway filled with the beauty and fragrance of the spring flowers and snow white dogwood blossoms and many times we would slip out in the woods and breathe a prayer for courage and strength to face the trials and difficulties of life that beset us along life’s pathway and with faith and hope we would be able to go in the strength of the assurance needed that was in the grace where life was before us and hope was strong but some how we never reached the good that we hoped to reach.
